MISSIONS OF EIGHTH DAY

Mission groups are the center of life in the Eighth Day Faith Community.  Many of these groups have given birth to missions that are now non-profit agencies.  Here is a partial list of the groups and/or agencies.

Membership in Eighth Day is based on commitment to Christ and response to God's call to deepen the inward journey and to serve God through actively participating in a mission group. Mission groups are the structure we have found most helpful in supporting God's individual and corporate call. Mission groups consist of at least two members who have responded to a particular call to ministry. Mission groups meet weekly to support one another in spiritual growth and outward mission. The calls of current mission groups include:

BANYAN TREE - creates, provides and coordinates learning and study opportunities for the 8th Day Faith community.
COMPANIONS
- committed to seeking out and making friends with low-income persons
FAMILY PLACE - ministry, outreach and support to low income families with young children and expectant mothers.
WAY TO JERUSALEM - fostering awareness and understanding of the issues dividing the Palestinians and Jews; seeking ways to be agents of reconciliation
WELLSPRING (with Dayspring) - works with persons & churches nation-wide to develop a deeper inward and outward journey
Welcoming Hearts:
celebrates diversity and encourages inclusiveness in our community through activities, events and spiritual groups for worshipping members.
